SSC – Software Service Contract

Each CMM-Manager purchase includes a perpetual software license and one-year software warranty / maintenance. This warranty provides licensed end user access to new CMM-Manager software updates, access to the Client Monitor App, and Priority Support for the duration of the warranty period (1 year). Priority Support includes plug-n-play configuration, Software Usage, and License assistance.

Benefits of keeping your Software Service Contract active
  • Priority Support – While all users are eligible to receive basic support, Priority Support is only available to users who maintain an active SSC / Software Service Contract. In addition to basic support, Priority Support includes hardware specific support, license support and recovery, as well as access to live one-on-one web session for inquiries that cannot be solved by basic phone or email support.

  • New Software Features and Updates – QxSoft offers one major CMM-Manager update and several minor updates each year. Each new version includes new functionality that improves the user experience. New software versions continually add and maintain support for the latest computer OS, PC hardware, new CAD formats, and CMM hardware. Learn more about recent CMM-Manager versions

  • Client Monitor App – The CMM-Manager Client Monitoring App monitors and displays useful information in real-time including CMM usage / utilization, program running state, report pass / fail status, error events, probe rotation and trigger cycles, tip calibration status and more.

After the original warranty expiration, a Software Service Contract (SSC) can be purchased. An SSC extends the previous warranty period, providing additional software updates and free Priority Support for the duration of the contract. The SSC can be purchased for a fee equal to approx. 12.75% of the list price of the software.

If purchased annually or after a lapse in coverage of less than a year, the customer has the option to purchase one SSC (~12.75%) thus extending warranty period one year from previous expiration date.

If one or more year(s) have elapsed, the additional ~12.75% upgrade fee is required along with the standard ~12.75% fee for the software contract (totaling ~25.5%), thus extending warranty period one year from current date.

An example:

Initial Purchase – January 1, 2020 – $5,000 – Warranty End Date December 31, 2020

11 Months after initial purchase – November 1, 2020, the purchase of (1) SSC (~$637) extends warranty end date to December 31, 2021.

18 Months after initial purchase – June 1, 2021, the purchase of (1) SSC (~$637) extends warranty end date to December 31, 2021.

2.5 Years after initial purchase – June 1, 2022, the purchase of (2) SSCs (~$1,275) extends warranty end date to May 31, 2023.

4 Years after initial purchase – January 1, 2024, the purchase of (2) SSCs (~$1,275) extends warranty end date to December 31, 2024.

After one year there is no additional penalty for multiple year lapse of software warranty / maintenance. The customer loses access to Priority Support and the opportunity to update continually to the latest version, but there is no year-over-year penalty when they decide to update their SSC at a later time.
