Post by Matt-Thinksurgical » Wed Dec 18, 2019 7:03 pm

Hi All,
I'm new here :)
Can any one help me to construct a circle between two circles, i'm trying to check the concentricity of a feature to datum A, but that feature is only a imaginary diameter! LoL Please Help

This is peculiar. Are you saying that there is no hole or pin at the datum A location? That would be a datum that would have to be "held" in some way to manufacture the part (or referenced). Or are you saying the 11mm diameter is imaginary? The 11mm diameter would be an actual diameter along the mid-arc of the slot, so not imaginary.

We can probably come up with a solution for this, but I need more information.

Matt,
We can at least get you some of the information you are after.

Measure both arcs (inner/outer) as circles.
Construct a mid-point between two circles.
Output the True Position of this point to datum -A-.

This at least gets you the positional information you are looking for. It should be the correct *values* although it will be on the report as a true position instead of concentricity.

Does that help at all?

Hi Matt,

I created a file for you. You will need to rename the extension from xml to cmp. It is version 3.9 SP2.

It creates the R11 feature which can be reported as concentricity among others.
