Re: Using a measured dimension as a nominal value

Ken, It may seem weird what medupriest is saying, but nominals can change (or reorient / relocate) when the nominals (cad model) are synced to a real part with deviation . The two most important buttons in CMM Manager are Runtime Align and Update actual feature. You have discovered the reason for Up...

Re: Want to report only one true position out of multiples

You will need to adjust the two settings ( "T", 3 ) in the GetReportInfo line of the code. Off the top of my head I don't know what should be there: Instead of: p(i) = GetReportInfo(NamePrefix & i & NameSuffix, "T", 3) It might be: p(i) = GetReportInfo(NamePrefix & i & NameSuffix, "POS", 3) '$$$$$$$...

Re: Distance from one surface to another

If the CMM table and surface A are parallel and you know the actual distance between them then you could construct an offset plane... RIBBON > CONSTRUCT FEATURE > PLANE > OFFSET PLANE Capture.JPG - - - -- - - - -- - - - -- - - - -- - - - -- - - - -- - - - -- - - - -- - - - -- - - - -- - - - -- - - -...

Re: Using a measured dimension as a nominal value

If you were trying to find the major angle of an ellipse on the xy plane you would need to grab the direction vector and calculate like this: AxisX = GetFeaturePropertyAct("ELLIPS1", 7) AxisY = GetFeaturePropertyAct("ELLIPS1", 8) EAngle = ((atn(AxisX/AxisY)) *57.29577951)+90 The ordinal values are l...

Re: Complex Surface edge cloud

It looks like you are using the 'measure surface edge' tool to get your point distribution. You may be happier just using 'cad teach points'. If it is a pretty distribution you are looking for you could measure as a 'cad teach cloud' and turn the "ALONG EDGE' option on, then go to the points tab and...

Re: Cloud-to-CAD Alignment Question

If you are looking to keep things simple, then it's easiest to start with a "CAD Alignment". "CAD Alignment" is intended to be used with the joystick as a first (manual) alignment. Cloud to CAD alignment is great when the points were measured in DCC mode. A few years back I tried to get the Cloud to...

Re: Inserting Free Position Alignments

A while back I started putting a Sync part ref frame command at the very beginning of all programs to help with just this situation. If your programs don't have a S.P.R.F. command at the top then this should work (should)... 1. Disconnect. (go offline) 2. After (below) your manual alignment and sync...

Re: Machine Setup -Table Height

I was on UCC Server 4.9 before last week and It didn't sync right either. Everything worked ok but the table didn't look right. It sounds like the sync behavior isn't supported unless you have 5.0.3 or greater. Upgrading the UCC Suite is a task you will need help with. Make sure you get help from yo...

Re: Machine Setup -Table Height

Good catch...I just updated to 5.0.5 so that's why I haven't been able to test it out until now. You'll know somethings up when you see that CMM Manager sees RefTool as a separate probe assembly that contains RefTip. The release notes... " UCC I++ Full Synchronization - Full synchronization of probe...

How to set table height in CMM Mgr v3.7+ with UCC Server

The advanced tab needs to be active in UCC Server to do this... 1. Right click over MACHINES > ~machine name~ > EQUIPMENT > CMMBed 2. Use the Locate Bed action from the tree to update the table position in UCC Server. 3. Go back to CMM Manager and Sync from the Probes tab of the ribbon. UCC Server L...
