centerpoint of rotation in the cad window

How do you change the centerpoint of rotation in the cad window?
Im talking about visually moving the model around on the screen not transforming the model.

Re: Is there a Standard form err for probe qualification?

Good point Guru.
while we're on the subject, any of you care to share how to create a DCC Calibration program?
Or, if you feel generous send me the one you use to my email in my profile, i'm not afraid!

Re: Is there a Standard form err for probe qualification?

1x40 2x20 0.5x20 4mm master That's it, nothing special or unusual. We have a Helmel by Phoenix that's only 2 or 3 years old. good machine but it had a lot of 'Bugs" to work out when it was new. Service guy was like a part time employee for us until they finally found a bad wire connection that was c...

Re: Is there a Standard form err for probe qualification?

.5mm is more than a bit excessive. In most cases, this is caused by a loose stylus. can you confirm that the stylus and all components above are tightened? If all of your probes are showing a lot of form error in calibration, then there is something else amiss. Is this a new install? When did the i...

Re: Is there a Standard form err for probe qualification?

Thank you very much. my "when calibration form deviation is larger than:" was set to .0001. (Metric)

My boss is asking if 0.5 is a bit excessive.
What does this value mean?

Is there a Standard form err for probe qualification?

Is there a Standard form err that is a "default" for the Helmel CMM?
I think that one of our probes is set much tighter so the probe qual is a pain because that err comes up for every angle.

Secondly, where do you change the err tolerance for each probe?

Re: annual machine calibration

Update, we sent some interns into the record room (dusty storage area of boxes and whatnot) and found our service contact.
Crisis averted!

Re: annual machine calibration

Its a Helmel Phoenix DCC 216 x 142.
we mainly use it as a "manual" CMM, meaning we drive it with the jog box, but we have a couple DCC programs for more common parts.
We also have 5 Brown & sharpe and 1 Zeiss Contura that get their annual calibration by factory techs in the manner described by crash.

annual machine calibration

We do our daily calibrations with a qual sphere, but what needs to be done for annual calibration sticker? We have a small plastic box labeled "Keyence Calibration Kit" which contains a 0.1000 ceramic pin and 0.8000 ceramic ring, but i'm not sure what these are for. Do i need to schedule a tech to c...
